This 3-hour trail ride offers a perfect balance between relaxation and adventure — ideal for families or small groups who want more time in the saddle without a full-day commitment. Guests can choose from two distinct experiences: the **Deer Mountain Route**, which ascends to panoramic Continental Divide views, or the **Horseshoe Park Route**, a tranquil path through meadows and creeks framed by the Mummy Range. Each ride features beginner-friendly horses and personalized guidance from professional wranglers. Helmets are included, and rides depart daily in the morning or afternoon. With crisp alpine air, unforgettable views, and gentle rhythms of hoofbeats through the forest, this ride captures the spirit of Rocky Mountain National Park like no other.

Itinerary

9:00 AM — Check in at National Park Gateway Stables
9:15 AM — Safety briefing and helmet fitting
9:30 AM — Begin ride via Deer Mountain (Option 1) or Horseshoe Park (Option 2)
10:30 AM — Scenic photo stop and water break
11:00 AM — Continue ride with opportunities for wildlife spotting
12:00 PM — Return to stables, dismount and debrief
