Description
Enjoy Colorado’s mountain air on this ninety-minute trail ride through the foothills near Central City. Guides greet you on arrival, match each rider to a calm, well-trained horse, and give simple instructions for a comfortable ride. Once everyone is ready, you’ll set off on a longer route that winds through forests, meadows, and historic paths once used by miners. The extra half hour means more photo stops and more time to settle into the rhythm of the ride.
The trail climbs gently into the foothills, where mountain vistas open between the trees and the air is cool and fresh. Riders of all levels are welcome, and younger children can ride double with an adult so no one is left behind. Your guide shares stories about the area’s heritage and points out landmarks as you go.
It’s a peaceful journey with a bit more adventure than the hour-long ride — a chance to bond with your horse and take in Colorado’s rugged beauty at a steady, family-friendly pace. When you return to the corral, you’ll have memories (and photos) of mountain views and quiet trails that feel a world away from the city.
