Description

The Alstrom Point Sunset Tour is the ultimate way to witness Lake Powell’s grandeur as the desert glows in evening light. Departing from Page, Arizona, your private guide will pick you up from your hotel or vacation rental for a 5-hour journey into Glen Canyon’s remote backcountry. Travel in an enclosed, air-conditioned off-road vehicle designed for comfort and stability as you cross rugged terrain and rolling desert hills toward the edge of the Colorado Plateau. The drive itself is an adventure—passing gray shale formations, balancing boulders, and sweeping views that feel almost lunar. As the road climbs higher, the view suddenly opens to Alstrom Point, one of the most photographed overlooks in the American Southwest. Here, sheer sandstone cliffs rise above the blue waters of Lake Powell, creating a panorama that stretches for miles. As the sun sets behind the mesas, the sky explodes in color—gold, pink, and violet—casting reflections across the canyon and lake below. Relax, enjoy refreshments, and take photos while your guide captures video footage of your experience. When twilight settles over the desert, return comfortably to Page, carrying memories and images that capture the spirit of the Southwest.
