Description
Quietly paddle Cedar Creek, a meandering blackwater stream that winds through Congaree National Park’s old-growth floodplain forest. Along the way you’ll pass some of the tallest trees in the Southeast, ancient Bald Cypress and Tupelo groves, and shaded tunnels of Pine and Willow Oaks. The forest comes alive with birdsong, turtles slipping off logs, and maybe even a deer or otter along the banks. Your guide shares stories of the park’s history and ecosystem, helping you spot wildlife and understand why this landscape is so rare. Trips run year-round, with morning departures to maximize wildlife activity. For a unique twist, seasonal Full Moon paddles are offered.
