Description
Discover the quiet side of Colorado’s mountains with this guided snowshoeing experience. Offered as either a half-day or full-day adventure, these trips take you deep into snow-covered forests and across frozen lakes where the only sounds are the crunch of snow beneath your feet and the whisper of the wind through the pines.
Each tour begins with pickup from your location in the Boulder or Front Range area and a scenic drive to the trailhead. Your guide outfits you with snowshoes, poles, and all the essentials before leading a comfortable-paced hike through pristine terrain. Stop often to rest, enjoy hot drinks, and learn about alpine ecology, geology, and wildlife adapted to winter’s challenges.
Half-day trips (about 4 hours) are ideal for families or first-timers seeking a taste of mountain tranquility, while full-day treks (about 8 hours) include a hearty lunch and visits to high-altitude destinations such as frozen lakes, glacial basins, or mountain viewpoints.
Snowshoeing season runs from December through March, when Colorado’s landscape transforms into a sparkling wonderland. These tours combine outdoor fitness with the peace of winter solitude, creating a memorable experience for all skill levels.
