Description

Winter in Yellowstone is unlike any other photography experience. When the bears hibernate, wolves, moose, and bison roam freely across snow-covered valleys — their breath visible in the cold mountain air. Led by wildlife photographer JoJo Kaul, these 1–3 day private tours explore Yellowstone’s northern corridor from Gardiner to Cooke City, with stops tailored to maximize light, landscape, and wildlife encounters. You’ll learn how to anticipate animal movement, compose dramatic winter scenes, and make the most of limited daylight hours. The park’s geothermal features add contrast, where geysers and fumaroles send plumes of steam into the frigid air. Using spotting scopes, binoculars, and warm blankets, guests stay comfortable even in subzero conditions. Daily itineraries include snacks, drinks, and lunch, with breakfast available upon request. Multi-day guests enjoy extended time in the field, increasing chances to capture wolves hunting, foxes diving for prey, or eagles perched against the snow. This adventure merges the thrill of discovery with professional photography guidance, offering one of Yellowstone’s most exclusive and immersive winter tours.
