Description
This guided Antelope Canyon Kayak + Hike Tour blends the best of Lake Powell with the magic of slot canyons in one active adventure. Meet your guide at Antelope Point Public Launch Ramp and gear up with stable, easy-to-paddle double kayaks, fitted PFDs, and dry bags for cameras and snacks. After a shoreside briefing, push off into the calm waters of a protected side arm and trace the sheer Navajo Sandstone walls as they narrow toward the canyon. The paddle is about five miles round-trip, with your guide setting a comfortable pace and pointing out rock textures, desert varnish, and seasonal birdlife along the way. Where the water ends, beach the kayaks and continue on foot. The canyon transitions from a wide corridor to sculpted passages, perfect for photos. Your guide covers geology basics—how floods and time carved the smooth “waves” in the sandstone—and shares practical tips for moving confidently on sandy, uneven footing. When lake level and weather cooperate, there’s time for a shore break and an optional swim before the return leg. This small-group outing is active but achievable for most guests who are ready to paddle and hike. Expect sun, splash, and plenty of wow moments as you experience Antelope Canyon from two perspectives—on the water and on the trail—then glide back across Lake Powell with a new appreciation for the desert’s color and scale.
