Description
This full-day adventure takes you from Fairbanks deep into Denali National Park during its most dramatic season. Begin with a hotel pick-up and a scenic drive south through the Alaska Range, with Denali itself visible on clear days. After a stop at the Visitor Center to stamp your National Park Passport and meet rangers, enjoy lunch in the small town of Healy before boarding your SHERP—an all-terrain, heated rescue vehicle built for extreme conditions. Journey off-road up mining trails to the upper lookout, where sweeping views and frozen cliffs showcase Alaska’s raw beauty. Continue to Dry Creek and the Frozen Palisades before testing the SHERP’s amphibious power on Otto Lake—floating in warmer months or rolling across the frozen surface in winter. On the return north, pause at Nenana’s historic Coghills Store, a trading post over a century old. End the day back in Fairbanks by early evening, with enough time to catch a late flight or enjoy dinner in town. Rugged, thrilling, and safe, this tour blends comfort with true Alaskan adventure.
