Description

This private safari takes you into Yellowstone’s Northern Range during the most dramatic time of year. Over two or three days, you’ll explore Lamar Valley and beyond — tracking wolf packs, herds of bison, elk, and other wildlife thriving in the winter wilderness. Led by professional naturalist guides, guests gain access to prime viewing areas often missed by standard tours. Outings include snowshoeing, wildlife photography, and geothermal exploration, with comfortable lodging and warm meals provided. Day one focuses on Lamar Valley’s predator hotspots, while day two (and optional day three) expand deeper into Yellowstone’s terrain for extended sightings and scenic experiences. With small group sizes, expert interpretation, and all logistics handled, this safari blends the thrill of adventure with the ease of an all-inclusive journey through Yellowstone’s frozen frontier.

Itinerary

Day 1:
7:00 AM — Pickup in Bozeman or Paradise Valley
8:30 AM — Arrive Gardiner, enter Yellowstone
9:00 AM — Explore Mammoth Hot Springs
10:00 AM — Wildlife tracking in Northern Range
12:30 PM — Picnic lunch in field
2:00 PM — Lamar Valley wolf viewing
5:00 PM — Check into lodge, dinner included

Day 2:
7:00 AM — Morning wildlife drive
9:30 AM — Explore Blacktail Plateau & geothermal areas
12:00 PM — Lunch and snowshoe option
2:30 PM — Continue wildlife photography & interpretation
5:30 PM — Return to lodge or Bozeman

Day 3 (Optional):
Sunrise — Extended wolf tracking and photography
Morning — Visit Mammoth terraces & canyons
Midday — Final picnic lunch and farewell

Price & Availability

$3,350 per vehicle (1–2 guests); $950 each additional guest, up to 6. Optional 3-day upgrade available. Includes 1–2 nights lodging, all meals, and private transport.

Breakfasts, lunches, and dinners provided along with snacks and drinks throughout.

Instructions

Pickup at lodging in Bozeman, Paradise Valley, Gardiner, or Mammoth. Be ready 10 minutes early; allow time for winter road conditions.

All ages welcome. Max 6 guests. Not wheelchair accessible. Moderate walking may be required.
