This private half-day winter tour immerses guests in Yellowstone’s Northern Range at dawn, when wolves and other wildlife are most active. Departing early from Gardiner or Mammoth, your naturalist guide takes you into Lamar Valley—known as the best place in the world to observe wolves in the wild. Outfitted with professional spotting scopes and binoculars, you’ll watch wolf packs interacting across snowy meadows and scan for other species like bison, elk, moose, and eagles. Your guide shares stories about Yellowstone’s unique ecosystem and the pivotal role wolves play within it. Throughout the morning, warm beverages and light snacks are served to keep you comfortable in the crisp mountain air. 6:00 AM — Depart from Gardiner or Mammoth
