Description

Yellowstone transforms into a wildlife paradise each winter, where the silence of snowfall is broken only by the call of a wolf or the low rumble of bison crossing a river. This private, guided safari by Kaul of the Wild offers guests an intimate and educational way to experience the park’s wildlife during its most peaceful season. Led by expert naturalist JoJo Kaul, your journey follows the northern range from Gardiner to Cooke City—an area known for its abundant winter wildlife. Wolves, moose, and elk move lower into valleys, while foxes and coyotes hunt across open meadows. Each day is tailored to your interests, whether focused on predator tracking, family discovery, or quiet observation. Guests travel in comfort, with blankets, optics, and warm drinks provided throughout the day. Lunch is served in the field, and breakfast can be arranged by request. For those with more time, 2–3 day itineraries allow deeper exploration and a greater chance to witness rare behaviors such as wolves hunting or eagles feeding. Designed for small groups and nature enthusiasts of all ages, this experience captures the essence of Yellowstone’s wild winter spirit.
