The Verde River Guided Kayak Tour is a fun and accessible adventure through one of Arizona’s most beautiful riparian corridors. Launching from Cottonwood, this two-hour experience follows a 3.1-mile stretch of the Verde River—one of only two federally designated Wild & Scenic Rivers in the state. Paddlers of all skill levels will enjoy gliding through calm waters framed by cottonwoods, willows, and red rock cliffs. Your certified guides share stories about the area’s ecology, wildlife, and history as you navigate mild riffles and tranquil pools. The trip includes all equipment, transportation, and safety instruction, making it easy for first-time kayakers or families with kids. Multiple departure times each day allow you to enjoy ideal conditions no matter the season. Itinerary
8:30 AM – Check in at OAC Boathouse for safety orientation and gear fitting 9:15 AM – Shuttle to Verde River launch site 9:30 AM – Launch kayaks and begin guided paddle through lush riparian scenery 10:15 AM – Pause for photos and wildlife spotting 10:45 AM – Continue through gentle river bends and shallow riffles 11:30 AM – Arrive at take-out point and return shuttle to boathouse 11:45 AM – Gear return and tour conclusion

Tours operate daily with multiple start times. Duration approx. 2 hours. Pricing: $95 adults (13+), $155 adult-child tandem, $95 children (5–12 with adult). Cancel up to 48 hours before tour for full refund.

Restrictions
