Description

The Lead Ride is the perfect way to introduce young children to horseback riding in a safe, nurturing environment. Each 15-minute session takes place in the ranch’s outdoor arena, where a professional wrangler leads the horse on foot while your child rides comfortably in the saddle.

Young riders make three relaxed laps around the arena, learning basic balance and building confidence with every step. Parents are welcome to watch, take photos, and share the excitement from the fence line. Helmets are provided, and all horses are chosen for their gentle disposition and training.

Located just west of Loveland, Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch is known for its family-friendly atmosphere and exceptional horsemanship. Lead Rides operate year-round (weather permitting) and are an ideal first horseback experience before graduating to trail rides when children are older. It’s a sweet introduction to Colorado ranch life and the joy of connecting with horses.
