The Polar Bear Float Winter Kayak Tour transforms a classic river run into a cool-weather adventure. Offered from November through February, this guided paddle lets you experience the Verde River in a whole new light—crisp air, bright skies, and fewer crowds. Outfitted in high-quality wetsuits, booties, and gloves, you’ll stay warm and comfortable as you glide down a 3-mile stretch of Arizona’s Wild & Scenic River. Your certified guide provides paddling tips and insights into the river’s ecosystem while you drift past cottonwoods, red rock cliffs, and wintering birds. The mellow current makes it accessible for all skill levels, and the tranquil season offers incredible opportunities for photography and wildlife viewing. Itinerary
11:00 AM – Check in at OAC Boathouse, Cottonwood, AZ 11:30 AM – Suit up with wetsuits, booties, and gloves for winter comfort 12:00 PM – Shuttle to launch site and safety briefing 12:15 PM – Begin guided paddle through scenic Verde River corridor 1:30 PM – Wildlife viewing and photo stops along the route 2:00 PM – Arrive at take-out point and return shuttle to boathouse 2:15 PM – Snack, gear return, and conclusion

Tours operate seasonally from November through February. Duration approx. 2 hours on the water. Pricing: $120 adults, $199 adult-child tandem, $95 children (5–12). Non-refundable within 7 days; full refund if canceled due to weather or minimum not met.

Check in 1 hour before tour at OAC Boathouse, 551 N Main St, Cottonwood, AZ. Changing rooms and lockers available.
Restrictions
Minimum age 5; children under 12 must ride tandem with an adult. Requires 4-person minimum to launch. Not wheelchair accessible.
Transportation
Shuttle transportation provided to and from the river launch point.
